2000 Ford F350

This sweet system in this 2000 F350 was designed, fabricated and installed by our Custom Install manager, Jay Enge. Jay was voted by Mobil Electronics Magazine and the industry as 2007-2008 Installer of the Year.

With a touch of a button on the security systems remote, the bed cover raises to reveal a custom fiberglass amp and battery rack. Custom mounted linear actuators were installed to motorize the bed cover. On the bottom of the Amp/Battery rack, a motorized flip-up panel was made so a 4x8 sheet of material could be carried in the truck bed (see video clip). The system is powered by 8 Jl Audio amplifiers - four 1000/1, three 600/4 and one 750/1. Four SVR batteries made for car audio systems were used to provide adequate power to the amplifiers.

In the rear of the extended cab area lies a custom fiberglass woofer enclosure that house four 13W7s, JL's beefiest woofer. The flowing lines of the enclosure are accented by plexiglas inserts backlit with red LEDS. In the front center of the enclosure is a massive port that's 12 inches in diameter. On either side of the enclosure you can see the backs of the woofers in the lit interior of the box though clear plex windows. Above the enclosure on the left and right sides of the cab are custom rear fill speaker pods. These are fitted with a set of Pioneer TSC520PRS components. Custom plexiglas panels on the rear doors highlight the installation.

Moving to the front of the cab, you'll notice custom fabricated door panels that hold the JL Audio midbass drivers. Inside the cab, custom kick panels were fabricated for another set of Pioneer TSC520PRS components. For optimum front stage imaging, the location of the Pioneer components were determined prior to the kick panels construction. To complete the setup required for 5.1 Dolby Digital reproduction, a custom dash top pod was made for a center channel speaker group. One half of a set of Pioneer TSC520PRS components were used in this to voice-match the rest of the speakers. Below the center channel speaker, a Kenwood DNX8120 runs the system. The DNX8120, one of Kenwood's Excelon series flagship models, is an all-in-one Navigation/DVD entertainment system with built-in Bluetooth technology.

To top it off, a custom made plexiglas insert was mounted in a fabricated overhead console piece to personalize this awesome system.
